And don’t forget, this isn’t a story for the faint of heart.Making kids miserable has never been so much fun – or looked so good – as in an exquisite new television adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. From Lemony Snicket himself to the Baudelaire children, it makes us love the dark and depressing world that Lemony created for us once more. So we’re outlining the 11 reasons why you should definitely give Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events a chance. For someone who didn’t really remember the books all that well, the series does an incredible job of reminding us why Lemony Snicket’s world is amazing. And honestly, the show is absolutely incredible. Netflix announced that they would be making a television series based on the beloved books with Neil Patrick Harris taking on the role of Olaf. The movie that came out with Jim Carrey as Count Olaf was mediocre at best. Mainly because the series itself is quite upsetting, even for adults.īut what was even more depressing was the fact that there had never been a book to movie version that was actually decent.

To think about the fact that these very sad and depressing books were meant for children is a bit weird. Most twenty somethings remember when they first read A Series of Unfortunate Events. After a failed film series, it seems that the Netflix series found its niche. Image courtesy of Netflix A Series of Unfortunate Events is the beloved series from Lemony Snicket.
